Empowering Local Students
The goal is to come together to raise $5,000 and bring the Summer Crime Scene Investigation Academy to life for 18 students in the Bloomington/Normal community. This one-week experience is all about empowering students. Your generous support ensures that students can participate with a minimal financial burden, covering their food and supplies throughout this time.
The Summer Crime Scene Investigation Academy offers hands-on experiences in evidence collection and analysis, engaging activities utilizing our high-tech crime solving technologies, and opportunities to showcase newfound skills, all led by experienced instructors and supported by near-peer mentors.
The mission is to empower students, particularly those from traditionally underrepresented groups in CJS. This includes first-generation students, individuals from schools without Advanced Placement programs, those from lower socio-economic backgrounds, women, and people of color.
