Greetings, friends of the Gamma Phi Circus,
We had an amazing year here at the Gamma Phi Circus! As our year begins to wind down, the equipment is put away, and we start to turn our sights toward summer camp and next year, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your generous contribution to our program. Your participation in our fundraiser helps to make our program a safer one. In addition, it relays the message to our troupe that we have a vast community of support that extends well beyond our practice gym and Redbird Arena.
We had an initial goal of $5,000 to cover the purchase of two new mats in order to replace ones that were 15 years old. With over 80 individual donors, we reached that goal. Nearly a third of the donations came in from our own membership and from each “corner of the gym," those who use the new mats and those who do not. I am grateful to all who gave, whether it was a five dollar donation or a thousand, all of us came together to make this possible.
The old mats each have large tears in them and although they have served us faithfully, they have reached the end of their ability to keep our membership safe. We were able to purchase two new, custom size, black mats that are exactly what we need. They connect to our new air tumble track and to each other. Since they are a custom size they fit through our doors so they are much easier to take to outside performances.
We will continue to celebrate the 90th year of Gamma Phi Circus at Illinois State University’s Homecoming, “Come One, Come All” October 21-27, 2019. We hope you are able to join us on campus to celebrate, but if you cannot make it back to Normal, please keep up with the latest Gamma Phi Circus news on our website or Facebook page.
Again, thank you for your donation, and from all of us at the Gamma Phi Circus,
May all your days…
Be Circus Days!
