Giving future Redbird teachers their international wings—EAF Dept
“Traveling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.” – Ibn Battuta
“The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page.” –Saint Augustine
You can fill a suitcase with famous adages about world travel. The insight these experiences incite begins with a flight! Many undergraduate students in the Department of Educational Administration and Foundations (EAF) never consider studying abroad because the cost of airfare is a financial barrier.
On average, an international roundtrip flight costs $1,000 and while many students need this support, our goal this year is to make the study abroad opportunity available to five students who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford the experience.
Your donation specifically supports aspiring high school teachers enrolled in (or who have recently completed) EAF’s diversity, equity, and foundations courses. These courses are designed to empower educators to become more reflective citizens and educators. That hard work sets the stage for meaningful international experiences with new cultures and education systems. The stories and knowledge they bring back will enrich their teaching and inspire their future students. Donors like you play a critical role in their success.
